The development in Seaside on the Sunshine Coast in QLD needed additional areas for visitor car parking. The Atlantis® Gravel Cell® provides a structure with heavy load bearing support and containment of gravel to create a porous surface with unlimited traffic volume and/or duration time for parking.
The use of Atlantis® Gravel Cell® is part of the community’s commitment to total catchment management with coordination of local and state government, business and community efforts on a catchment basis to maintain clean water and a diversity of vegetation and wildlife. The local council sought a long-term solution to the problem of economically removing stormwater drainage from the developed residential and commercial areas where there are no natural creeks or waterways available for drainage.
The Atlantis® Gravel Cell® paver provides the ability to turn walkways, driveways, parking lots and other traditionally paved surfaces into vast water collection surfaces. The Atlantis® Gravel Cell® was a cost effective method to increase porous surfaces for stromwater infiltration within the development and reduce the load on the existing stormwater system.
